Three Days in Don Salvador Benedicto
Wednesday, December 20th, 2006I never thought that there is a Baguio here in Negros.
So there is.
The Padayon 2 Leadership Convention of the Riverside Student Government held at St. Therese Retreat House, Don Salvador Benedicto was as best as Padayon 1 held in Guimaras last summer.
Padayon 1 was hot…burning hot - which made my skin red as lechon.
Padayon 2 was cold…freezing cold - which caused me busisaw since I was not sweating.
And there were a lot of things to reminisce.
*The piloerecting speeches of Mr. Primitivo Paypon, our facilitator.
*The unforgettable team-building activities and eyes breakers such as the Toothpick Tower, the Newspaper Text Counting, the Capital Battle, the Trust Tests, and the Auctioning of Careers. Truly, one of a kind.
*The misunderstandings which were understood in the end.
*The pictorials in the rain and the fast disappearing rainbows.
*The refreshing duyan conducive to sleeping.
*The myriad pine trees that made the place exactly like the Summer Capital of the Philippines.
*The bonding bonding at the native cottages.
*The cold evenings conducive to dreaming or imagining hugging your special someone.
*The shout-stimulating bath water.
*The kuting kuting of the guitars by the umbaos and the kanta kanta of the lyrics by the murats.
*The dawn trekking of the steeps.
*The gluttony of everybody over flooding foods.
*The drama drama ek ek chorva cornyfest.
*The one-of-a-kind gift-giving.
*The chenelyn comedy skits during the Cultural Night and the wild disco after.
*The realizations we had after being blindfolded for more than an hour and listening to very long prayers.
*The washing of our feet by our kind facilitators.
*The patalbugan of cheering chants.
*The gift Mr. Prim Paypon gave me…a book! The Five People You’ll Meet in heaven.
*The teary culmination.
T’was only three days but what we all learned would last a lifetime.
Happy Christmas!
